There's a dirty little diabetes your doctor isn't telling you.

Diabetes is associated with problems around insulin, a basic hormone required for life. Because life is a balance, when the use and production of insulin is imbalanced, there are implications that run through out your body and life. Medicine splits diabetes up into 3 broad categories.  Most people know about the first types, 1 and 2, but there is now a medically recognized third type as well. It a bit of a dirty doctor secret because it’s caused by the attempts to make life easier for people that have the first 2 types. Here’s a rundown on the sorts of recognized diabetes:

Your pancreas can produce several times more insulin than it normally needs, but over time the stress can call cause failure. Until that time, your inability to use insulin well (insulin resistance) stresses the organ. In many, insulin resistance occurs through the combination of being overweight, long term dehydration, and systematic nutritional starvation. If you are obese, the odds of being told you have type 2 diabetes go up. One of the reasons insulin is in great quantities in some type 2 diabetics is because it is being used as a transport mechanism for scavenged minerals and micronutrients, taken from your body structure to enable metabolism, in addition to handing blood sugar.

It is proven that daily exercise increases sensitivity to insulin. Less insulin is needed by many when this is done.

Bodily fluids are slowed by to much insulin – both the fluids inside and outside body cells become thicker. Thick fluids don’t move well. This causes poor circulation, with the results first showing in many in the extremities as nerves are damaged from poor circulation. Further things that happen can be heart attacks, strokes, or clogged arteries are found. The circulatory system is stressed. Doctors are expected to treat a type two diabetic as having had a heart attack because of this added stress.

Relatively new is the type 3 diabetes division. One way of describing it is as combination of both type 1 and type 2 diabetes. The patient has type 2 diabetes, many with insulin resistance, but the decision has been made to supplement insulin production with additonal. This requires a person to inject insulin in a similar manner to a person with a Type 1 diagnosis. Why do doctors recommend injecting insulin to type 2 diabetics? Because control of diet, exercise, or oral medication didn’t produce blood sugar control. Sad to say, but in some, it is because people don’t do what’s right for them.

Obviously, the treatment of diabetes must be monitored very carefully (including the use of additional insulin) by both the sufferer and their medical professional. Eating what you want and adding insulin as needed can end up being a disaster, resulting in many fewer years of life and a tremendous amount of suffering that can be avoided. by 2050, half of all the people in the United States will have a version of diabetes as current trends continue.
